In Actinic V10, should I use OSA or Actinic to manage my stock?
Question:
Using Actinic v10. This has elements of 'real time' stock control/synchronization & order polling. However, it does NOT appear to set maximum order quantities automatically, unlike the Mole End Automation for Actinic product.
So, which do I use, given that the ability to update maximum order quantities is very useful, but just allowing Actinic to poll 'in the background' has benefits - especially as, unlike the Automation product, it doesn't abruptly throw you out of Actinic when you're in the middle of site maintenance/product addition/amendment.
If using the Automation product, do I turn-off Actinic's own site polling?
Answer:
You can really only use one option or the other.
Unfortunately, as the built-in Actinic stock monitoring system is not as thorough as the Mole End OSA, it does not cater for "Max Qty Orderable" figures in Actinic.
Of course, it does have the advantage of being completely integrated, however, meaning it runs in the background causing minimal interference with normal Actinic operations.
To use the OSA software to manage your stock updates, it would be necessary to disable the Actinic 'live' stock monitoring.
