Product Mash: How to add barcodes (EAN/GTIN) to Amazon Feed.

Product Mash: How to add barcodes (EAN/GTIN) to Amazon Feed.

Amazon needs to uniquely identify your products. This is done by an ASIN (Amazon number) or, if the item is not currently listed on Amazon, (or you do not want your item to be sold against the same product already sold on Amazon), you need to use a barcode (EAN/GTIN).

The EAN/(GTIN) is the number normally written under the barcode on a product label. If you do not have a barcode for product you can create your own barcodes. To do do this you need to register your company with GS1:

http://www.gs1uk.org/pages/default.aspx

Prices for (up to 10,000) codes is from 99 + VAT. The cost depends on your company turnover. It takes less than an hour from applying to getting your barcodes created.

Once you have a barcode you need to enter this into Actinic.

The following article can help you do this for Actinic V8 onwards:

and for Actinic V7:

Products without either an ASIN or an EAN/Barcode, cannot be sold through Amazon.
