Creating sitemaps can be the best way for your website to be discovered by search engines. In a sitemap you can define the URLs of your site and various metadata about each URL. This allows search engines to intelligently crawl the site.
Here is an example of how to create a sitemap for your Actinic website using Product Mash.
1. First, if you wish to have the sitemap display your pages on the search engine in an order of importance (This could be the most popular category of product on your website, other than the index) you will have to set up a custom variable to define the priority of pages in Actinic. The default priority is also set in Product Mash once you have set up a custom variable.

2. After you have created your custom variable you can set the default value in the feed options in Google site map (Which is what I shall be using in this example)
3.Tick the Page Priority box and then clicking on set, which brings up the Select Custom Variable window.
4. Select the custom variable type Section, the variable is whatever you named it when following the guide in step 1. The default would be the default priority number you would want for any pages you having set the priority for in Actinic. This number cannot exceed 1 or go lower then 0.
5. Once setting up your default priority for your un prioritised pages and choosing a location and name for the output of the mash you are ready to generate your sitemap.
6. Go back to the main Product Mash page, and assuming you have changed no settings on here you can click the Mash now button which will generate your sitemap to your designated output location.
7. You can click View Output to see just what has been generated to a sitemap.
