Here is a basic hierarchical import that can be used to import custom
variables to use this you have to have auto-generate product references
switched off and you need to use the update option when you import and
only include details for existing products - if you need to create new
products you would have to give a product description as well.

This is the content of the file, note that the header lines should all
be on a single line, so watch for the wraparound on the custom
property line :
