Product Mash: Submitted Google sitemap file returns error

Google returns "Unsupported file format" when you submit your Google sitemap file.

This is because you have a redirected 404 page on your website (i.e. if someone goes to an invalid page on your website it is re-directed to a valid page).

This is a strange error, but for some reason Google checks out your site when you submit a feed and expects to get an error from your website when it calls it with a (purposefully) invalid page name. Your website returns a 200 return code (valid page) rather than the expected 404 (bad page). Google then returns a generic error saying "Unsupported file format".

This is (hopefully) a problem that Google will resolve in the near future. They are aware of this problem.
